The Mālama Wao Akua exhibit was initially held at Viewpoints Gallery in Makawao. During its early years, it even traveled to Hana and other locations around Maui. The exhibit was held at Viewpoints Gallery until 2015, when it was moved to the Hui. In 2006, the exhibit was skipped in favor of trying out a poetry slam.
