20th Anniversary Social Media Campaign – #MWAInfluence

May 17, 2024 by East Maui Watershed

#MWAINFLUENCE

As we celebrate 20 years of Mālama Wao Akau we want YOU to share your journey of connection and transformation with us and others.

Whether you’ve performed at an exhibit, taught art classes, been a juror, admired children’s artwork, explored your own creativity, or discovered fascinating insights about native species through art, we want to hear from you!

What is the Campaign About?

Our hashtag campaign revolves around capturing and sharing personal experiences related to this native species art exhibit. We believe that art is not only about aesthetics but also about the stories, emotions, and connections it evokes. Through this campaign, we aim to create a platform where individuals can reflect and express their unique perspectives, learn from each other, and celebrate the richness and history of this exhibit.

Guidelines for Participation

To ensure the success and integrity of our campaign, we’ve outlined some guidelines for participants to follow:

  1. Theme Clarity: Your posts should revolve around your personal experiences with the exhibit Mālama Wao Akua from the beginning in 2004 to today. Whether it’s performing, teaching, admiring, creating, or discovering, we encourage you to share your story.
  2. Hashtag Usage: Use our designated campaign hashtag in all your posts to make them easily discoverable within the campaign feed. Use hashtag #MWAInfluence and tag @malamawaoakua.
  3. Content Diversity: Share diverse experiences through anecdotes, photos, videos, artwork interpretations, or reflections. We value authenticity and welcome genuine storytelling.
  4. Educational Value: Highlight any educational insights gained from the art exhibit, such as local culture, history, or environmental conservation.
  5. Promotion and Sharing: Spread the word about the campaign within your networks and communities to maximize participation and engagement. Challenge someone else you know to create a post.
  6. Respectful Engagement: Focus on crafting positive posts and engaging with others in a respectful manner.
  7. Not on Instagram?: Thats ok, we will take submissions by email, text or phone. Let us know your story and we will share it for you. You can email us at pr@eastmauiwatershed.org or call/text (808)268-1475. Contact us with any questions.

Don’t forget to follow us on social media for updates and to engage with other participants. Let’s make this campaign a memorable journey filled with art, stories, and connections. Happy sharing!
